Economic Recovery Consulting Services in Burkina Faso

This contract involves providing consulting services to support economic recovery activities in five municipalities in the Centre-North region of Burkina Faso. The project is part of a bilateral cooperation initiative between Burkina Faso and Germany, aimed at assisting internally displaced persons (IDPs) and strengthening the resilience of host communities. Launched in October 2021, the project focuses on enhancing the capacity of local municipalities and actors to improve living conditions for IDPs and vulnerable populations. With over 2 million IDPs in Burkina Faso, many of whom are women and children, the project seeks to address the challenges posed by increased population pressures in host communities. Key objectives include improving access to quality basic services, fostering social cohesion between IDPs and host communities, and promoting inclusive economic recovery through job creation and vocational training. The project is implemented by the German Technical Cooperation (GIZ) in collaboration with the Belgian Development Agency (ENABEL) and is co-financed by the European Union.
