Professional Estate and Property Management Services for Heritage Organizations

National Records of Scotland (NRS) and partner Scottish Government organizations (National Museums Scotland, Historic Environment Scotland, and Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh) are establishing a joint framework agreement to procure professional estate management services. This framework will support the management of nationally important buildings, many of which are listed or protected heritage assets, across multiple locations in Scotland. The framework seeks qualified suppliers with demonstrated expertise in conservation-led estates management, heritage building services, and compliance within protected and sensitive environments. Services available through the framework include: multi-disciplinary technical and design services (architectural and engineering); conservation consultancy for listed and historic buildings; support to in-house estates teams with specialist advice and surveys; project and construction management; health and safety and fire safety services including asbestos and water safety surveys; and planned maintenance planning, inspections, and compliance support. The collaborative approach aims to reduce procurement duplication, ensure consistent high-quality service delivery, provide value for money, and enable participating organizations to effectively discharge their custodial responsibilities for Scotland's important collections and heritage assets.
