Forestry Mulching Services Tender - South District

Forestry England is seeking experienced contractors for a four-year mulching services contract (2+2 years with annual reviews) across two geographical areas in South England. The contract is divided into four separate lots that can be bid for independently: Lot 1 covers standard restocking on level ground (estimated 50ha annually); Lot 2 addresses steep slopes and sensitive sites using specialized equipment (estimated 10ha annually); Lot 3 involves processing felled Norway Spruce and woody debris (estimated 20ha annually); Lot 4 provides 24-hour emergency response during wildfire season (March-September) to support fire defensible zones. Area 1 includes Dorset (Wareham and Ringwood), Hampshire (New Forestry North and South). Area 2 includes Hampshire (Micheldever and Solent), Isle of Wight (Solent), Surrey (Chiddingfold), and West Sussex (South Downs). Contractors must demonstrate extensive experience in heavily visited public areas and full compliance with UK Woodland Assurance Standard (UKWAS), Forest Industry Safety Accord (FISA) guidelines, Forestry England Health and Safety Policy, and all relevant environmental and health and safety legislation. Various equipment types are specified for each lot, from standard tractors to purpose-built machinery and emergency response equipment.
