Engineering and Environmental Consultancy Services for Fish Barrier Mitigation Projects in County Waterford

Inland Fisheries Ireland is seeking multidisciplinary consultancy services to support two Barrier Mitigation Projects: Lyre Bridge and Glenshelane Weir in County Waterford. The consultant will provide engineering, environmental, and planning services across three project phases, from feasibility studies through option selection to securing statutory consent. Key responsibilities include acting as Designer and Project Supervisor Design Process, preparing all necessary documentation under the Planning and Development Acts 2000–2023, Capital Works Management Framework, and Infrastructure Guidelines 2023. The projects aim to remove or mitigate barriers to fish passage, restore natural river processes, and improve ecological status in compliance with the EU Water Framework Directive. This work is part of Ireland's Water Action Plan 2024 and the National Barrier Mitigation Programme.
