Community Support Program for Rural Teens

Derry City and Strabane District Council is seeking suppliers to participate in the PeacePlus Rural Teens program. This initiative aims to support teenagers from the rural District Electoral Areas (DEAs) of Faughan and Derg by providing cross-community outdoor physical activities and indoor health and wellbeing workshops. The program will focus on fostering peer support, promoting good relations, enhancing leadership skills, and encouraging peacebuilding. It will also address cultural heritage and raise awareness of issues such as sectarianism, racism, poverty, and paramilitary influence. Additionally, the project will explore challenges faced by Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) individuals and LGBTQ+ rural residents to help build their skills, confidence, and capacity.
