Research on Patient Experiences with Health and Social Care Services

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is seeking a supplier to conduct research on individuals' experiences of care after interacting with NHS healthcare services. This research will build on our NHS patient survey program, which now includes a question about whether patients are willing to share their experiences with CQC. This question is part of various surveys, including those for maternity, urgent and emergency care, adult inpatient care, and community mental health. We aim to use this opportunity to investigate areas of patient experience that are not currently addressed in our surveys, particularly focusing on how patients are supported to maintain their health at home after being discharged from the hospital. This procurement process was conducted under the CQC Research and Evaluation Framework, specifically Lot 7, which focuses on involving people in health and social care and understanding their experiences. The contract is awarded for an initial term of 12 months, with the possibility of extending for an additional 12 months.
