Brief
The National Transport Authority (NTA) of Ireland is providing advance notice of its intent to procure passenger transport services for the Ryder Cup golf tournament taking place September 19-26, 2027, at Adare Manor in County Limerick. This Prior Information Notice (PIN) is not a call for competition but informs potential suppliers of planned procurement expected to begin in Q2 2026.
Scope of Services: The NTA will conduct an open competitive process and award contracts across multiple lots for the provision of buses/coaches and drivers to operate shuttle services between several park and ride facilities and Adare Manor (most within 10 km, one up to 50 km away), as well as train and ride services from Colbert Station and Limerick Junction. Services will operate 05:00-21:00 daily for eight days.
Capacity Requirements: On main competition days (Friday-Sunday), approximately 20,000 passengers are expected to use park and ride services and 3,000 to use train and ride services. Preliminary estimates indicate a peak requirement of approximately 300 single-deck 50-seat coaches (double-deck vehicles may also be used), with lower numbers needed on the preceding four days. These estimates may change.
Vehicle and Service Standards: All vehicles must be no more than 10 years old from first registration and have Euro VI engine emission standards. Services must include suitable and accessible vehicles, on-call recovery vehicles, passenger boarding management, and off-site vehicle storage if required. Service providers must coordinate with the Event Manager, Ryder Cup personnel, An Garda Síochána (Irish police), the NTA, and other stakeholders to ensure safe and timely operations.
Supplier Requirements: Service providers must arrange overnight accommodation for personnel and demonstrate capability to manage complex event logistics. Interested parties should email procurement@nationaltransport.ie to express interest and submit observations. Full details will be provided in future procurement documentation. This notice does not constitute a commitment to procure; any resulting procurement will be advertised according to applicable public procurement rules.
