Apron Safety Reconfiguration Project – Irish Airport Stand Reconfiguration

This construction project involves reconfiguring three aircraft stands at an Irish airport to improve safety, operational efficiency, and passenger flow. Key work packages include: (1) Apron reconfiguration to create three independent Code C aircraft stands with improved manoeuvrability; (2) Pavement and civil engineering works including new rigid and flexible pavements, and rehabilitation of existing apron areas; (3) Drainage and de-icing infrastructure with collection and treatment systems; (4) Airfield systems integration including ground lighting, markings, electrical systems, and ducting; (5) Passenger interface improvements such as covered walkways for safety and segregation from aircraft operations. The project will be executed within a live, operational airport environment requiring detailed phasing and coordination to maintain continuous aircraft movements, passenger flows, and ground operations. All contractors must comply with airport security requirements including Garda vetting, BSAT training, security clearances, and airport access permits.
