Pond Dipping Platform Installation at Sywell Country Park

North Northamptonshire Council is seeking suppliers to provide a new industrial-grade pond dipping platform at Sywell Country Park. This platform will enhance visitor engagement and educational activities around the amphibian pond area, ensuring safety and accessibility for the public, including school groups and families. The project involves the installation of a robust steel framework, designed to meet all relevant structural and environmental standards. Key specifications include: - Beams made from parallel flange channels (PFC) sized 200x90x29.7 mm. - Columns constructed from square hollow sections (SHS) with varying sizes for different heights. - Fully welded connections with hot-dip galvanised bolts for durability. - Foundations anchored securely to an existing concrete base. All steel components will be treated to ensure longevity and environmental safety, including shot blasting, hot-dip galvanising, and a non-toxic epoxy finish suitable for underwater exposure. The platform will feature open grid grating panels for drainage and slip resistance, with optional Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) decking. Handrails will be installed for safety, complying with all relevant specifications. This installation will replace an existing opening in the stone wall, maintaining the heritage character of the site. All work must be carried out by qualified contractors following approved methods and safety guidelines.
